Craigantlet Hill Climb entry list filled in under six minutes!

Such is the hunger from competitors to return to motorsport and specifically ‘The Hill’ the Ulster Automobile Club, organisers of Craigantlet Hill Climb, are delighted to report that the entry list was full within 6 minutes of opening.

Simon Brien, our title sponsor commented, “This is a fantastic achievement for the event which is highly regarded as one of the best in the Championship and reflects the high level of organisation and the attraction of Craigantlet with its potential for competitors to reach speeds in excess of 140 mph on closed public roads. I would like to wish everyone involved a safe and enjoyable day on the Hill.”

Craigantlet hosts Rounds 25 & 26 of the 2021 Motorsport UK British Hillclimb Championship (BHC) supported by Avon Tyres / Footman James. Clerk of the Course, Wilson Carson stated, “I am delighted to welcome 18 out of the top 20 BHC competitors this year. Scott Moran (returning to a full competition programme this year) and Dave Uren, equal record holders of the fastest time of 39.12 seconds, will undoubtedly be challenging each other trying to set a new record. Wallace Menzies currently leads the Championship from Alex Summers both of whom will also be looking for the Fastest Time of the Day and a new Hill record.

The support from our local competitors is also phenomenal with over 90 quality entries submitted from far and wide for 72 places. There will be classes won and lost as this is the last round of the Millers Oils ANICC Hill Climb Championship and the UAC’s own Club Championship. It is shaping up to be a great day of motorsport for all to witness as they charge for victory up the Hill.”

Please Note: Spectator access will only be allowed from the bottom of the Hill Climb Course (i.e. Belmont Road (B170) approaching from the Old Holywood Road / Massey Avenue directions). Because of the COVID-19 pandemic additional Health & Safety measures will be in place on the event. Please remember to keep your distance, wear a face covering and wash your hands.
